Chapter 6 (Guest starring Deadpool!) – First 'team-up'

"...so I made this bracelet-like carousel to rotate a new web cartridge onto the top so I don't have to do it manually." Ms. Marvel watched as Spider-Man pointed to the side of the web shooter explaining how it works. She had gotten a spare chair and was seated next to the web-head at his desk, her interest growing all the while. "What do you think?"

"Sounds confusing to me" shrugged the blond heroine, she honestly didn't know what he was talking about but it never hurts to learn new things.

"It's alright, not everyone's perfect....though try telling Doc Ock that and he'll probably start rambling on how he's the world's greatest scientist." Spidey replied earning a chuckle out of the Warbird. They just sat in silence for a few seconds before Ms. Marvel cleared her throat "So uhh, yeah thanks for keeping me company."

"Same here, want to head back up to the control room now? The web shooters are fixed now."

"I don't see why not, sure!"

They both left Spidey's room and walked down the hallway into the front of the Helicarrier, they both heard a beeping noise coming from the computer so they walked over and Ms. Marvel started typing on the panel bringing up the update on the Machina Code. "Yes, we've got a set of coordinates for the second Machina Code!"

"Where is it at?" The computer started projecting an image of the Earth rotating and zooming in on the coordinates as it locked on to the Codes location – the same forest where Captain America's 'All Captains Squad' fought Plantman's army of plant monsters (God even I can't make that sound cool). Ms. Marvel then pressed a button near a microphone and spoke via intercom.

"Attention all SHIELD agents, report to docking bay. The next Machina Code has been found, repeat, the next Machina Code has been found; meet me in the docking bay for preparations." She then turned to Spidey, "you come with me. We'll need a decoy if we need to make a distraction."

Spider-Man's expression dropped "Oh joy, not only do I get mud on my costume but I get to be the dummy in distress to, happy birthday to me." The SHIELD leader ignored his little rant and made her way down the hallway to the docking bay.

Once there she saw all SHIELD agents performing the protocol they practiced for when they found a Code. They were loading the small but armoured ships for launch with a special containment for the Code while others prepared the weapons in case they ran into any trouble. One of the soldiers approached Ms. Marvel and Spidey assumed he was a squad leader since his armour had a darker colour scheme.

"Commander Marvel, we've got the coordinates down and have programmed them into the navigation systems in each of the ships already and the troops are starting to finish preparation on the ships." To emphasise his point he lead them to one of the ships which was having weapons loaded and it's fuel tank filled up. Ms. Marvel gave a nod of approval "Good work, me and Spider-Man are assisting you lot on this mission."

Suddenly in a puff of red smoke and holding a rocket launcher "Alright let's get this team up started!" Guess who?

Everyone gave a surprised glance at Deadpool who bounced on his feet in excitement "Seriously! How do you keep doing that!?!?!?"

Deadpool turned to the SHIELD agent in disappointment "Pal, you should know that it's called teleportation!"

"I meant, how do you keep turning up when something important is going to happen?"

"Well I just sneak into the author's room when he's not looking and look at the ideas he has for upcoming chapters. I didn't find the convoy interesting so I'm gonna make up for it now!" Everyone just found this even more confusing as they had no idea as to what he was talking about. "So c'mon guys, whaddya say?"

The webbed wonder faced the warbird "Well we could use the extra firepower and his teleportation ability could come in handy." Ms. Marvel just groaned knowing that his teleportation powers would be a valuable asset "Errr, alright fine" she then snapped towards the mercenary snatching the rocket launcher away from him and giving him a venomous glare "and if you make any stupid comments or jokes I will break your neck, wait for it to heal and then break it again!"

Deadpool leaned towards Spider-Man and whispered "Boy, the author and some of the writers at Marvel sure picked a violent one to pair you up with, but hey if I had my love interest removed in this Super Hero Squad universe I'd defiantly wanna hook up with someone as hot as her!"

"Wait...what?"

"Never mind, c'mon everyone let's go kick some bad guy booty!"

The three heroes and a squad of SHIELD agents snuck through the forest towards the coordinates for the next Machina Code. Deadpool pulled out a tape recorder "Mission log, making my way through jungle with the pairing for the story keeping an eye out for any Honey Badgers that may lurk in the bushes. These Machina Codes seem like a pointless subplot from the whole 'romance' thing, but the author insisted that the next chapter will have romance in it, a mistake on his part if I say so myself..."

The tape recorder was snatched from his hand as the blond heroine gave him another glare "Will you stop it? There could be villains here!" she hissed trying to keep quiet.

Deadpool sulked as they reached a part of the forest were some trees were knocked over and scratched. Ms. Marvel signalled the squad to take cover as they moved closer, Spider-Man crawled up a tree and web zipped from one to the other trying to be as quiet as possible.

They soon found a group of doom bots and a giant silver robot trying to rip something out of the ground. The giant silver robot marched forward "Halt! The pulling force will cause exterior damage to the Code. Suggest breaking down surrounding stones to loosen the grip on the Code."

The doom bots obeyed Ultron and started to tap on the ground rapidly like jackhammers. The squad observed the scene before them "Okay M&M, Ultron's armour will be too strong for the SHIELD agents so maybe we could hold him off while they get the drop on the doom bots."

"Okay, you three flank round and wait for my command, you four move up to the hill over there to shoot any bots down if they try to escape and attack from a distance." The agents followed her commands and moved into their positions as quietly as possible.

"Alright Spider-Man I have an EMP grenade here. If we can't stop Ultron with our fists then we will have to..." Her eyes widened as she realised that Deadpool had left. "Wh---where is he?!?!" They both looked in shock as they saw Deadpool approaching Ultron and the doom bots in a vendor disguise.

Ultron heard footsteps and turned around to blast whoever it was. "Please senior! I come in-a peace-a!" Deadpool's accent was barley authentic. "May I offer you-a some shiny decals for your-a armour? Maybe your-a  fellow bucket heads would-a be interested in these colour changing lights-a to strike fear-a into the hearts-a of their foes-a?"

Ultron was not impressed "Highly unlikey. Also Italian's do not reside in south American rainforests. Disguise is highly illogical and stereotypical on your part."
Deadpool threw off the disguise and brought out his laser guns "Fine, then say hello to my little friends!" His laser blasts just bounced off Ultron.

"You absolute IDIOT!" Ms. Marvel screamed as she flew towards Ultron and delivered a swift punch to his faceplate. Deadpool adopted a smug smile that was immediately swept off when Ms. Marvel punched him in the side of the head sending him flying into a nearby rock. The doom bots opened fire on the warbird before Spider-Man leapt into the air and trapped them in webbing.

The SHIELD agents then fired their weapons on the doom bots destroying as many as possible. Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel then charged towards Ultron who had gotten back up and just stood there. Once they got close Ultron flew up, dodging their attacks and fired down upon them stunning them. They quickly moved as much as they could to avoid his powerful punches.

Deadpool then got up and drew his swords charging towards Ultron in an anime style fashion yelling "CHIMICHANGA'S!" Ultron just held up his fist and Deadpool ran straight into it immediately knocking him down.

Ms. Marvel threw some punches at him but Ultron just held up his arms and blocked them with ease until she landed one on his elbow. She quickly kicked him back causing him to lose balance. Spider-Man then webbed his legs to trip him up and used web throw to knock him into the ground. Unfortunately Ultron grabbed the webline and yanked Spider-Man towards his fist knocking him back.

Ms. Marvel caught him and set him down as she fired a laser beam at him. Ultron simply flew over it and shot a concussive blast at her face, knocking her out. Spidey webbed his optics shut and quickly used web strike while he couldn't see forcing the robot to crash land. Ultron started charging a radial blast but the crimson arachnid was able to get far enough to dodge it.

Spider-Man saw Ms. Marvel wake up and helped her up until they both got shot by more concussive blasts. Ms. Marvel reached behind her back to get the EMP grenade but she became horrified when she couldn't find it.

Ultron walked towards them "How long can you continue before you tire out from your bruises?" Deadpool then got up and took out the EMP grenade and threw it at Ultron's back. The grenade then stuck to his arm when Ultron snapped round. "Sticky grenade, how predictable. My armour can withstand their blasts."

Suddenly the grenade let out a surge of electricity as Ultron started to spaz out from his circuits losing power. Deadpool teleported in front of him and reared his fist back "FALCON PUNCH!" Ultron went flying into the air before landing in a nearby lake.

"Yes I'm so going to get the guest star part in the next Smash Bros. Game!" Ms. Marvel slapped the merc with a mouth in the back of the head and stomped her foot "Why did you take the grenade?"

"I was curious to see what it did" he shrugged. Ms. Marvel grabbed his throat and brought up her fist but Spider-Man grabbed her by the wrist "Wait calm down, he helped us defeat Ultron. Sure he messed up the plan but he helped none the less. You can't be mad at him for that."

Ms. Marvel sighed and relaxed her arm but didn't release her grip on Deadpool's neck "Your right at least we protected the Machina Code." Suddenly her arm was whipped around Spidey's neck against her will as she was leaned back slightly with both her and the webhead looking confused as Deadpool played some romantic music on a guitar (where he got it from is a mystery).

"Oh Spidey, I see why blondie here has been falling for you recently, you help her calm down, make her feel better and stop her from ripping my head off, do I smell a cute couple or is it a chimichanga?"

They both snapped out of their trance and dancing position as they tried to hide each of the blushes occupying their faces. "Uhh w-well we should...let's just get the next Code."

The SHIELD agents had already destroyed all the doom bots and had brought the containment for the Code while Deadpool was mocking the growing feelings between the two heroes. The squad then loaded it back onto the ship and flew back to the Helicarrier.

Ultron rose from the lake and stared at the retreating ship. He then turned around and flew back to Villainville.

The second Machina Code was a pyramid rather than a sphere and had a yellow colour scheme as opposed to the blue the first one had. It was placed in the same device the first was once it reached the vault and was also being studied as we speak.

Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man reported back to base "Thank for the assist Spider-Man, you made a day less frustrating."

"Well, what are friends for right?" But Deadpool's words from earlier were still lingering in their heads as they both stood in silence for a while. Ms. Marvel found it quite embarrassing seeing how she was more powerful than Spider-Man and yet she couldn't help but acknowledge how Deadpool could be right about her falling for Spidey. She couldn't help but wonder. Who was it under that mask? What did he look like? Did he have feelings for her to?

They were interrupted once again when an all too familiar mercenary just popped out of nowhere "That was a great team up if I may say so! I deserve since they wouldn't let me be in the show, I mean I wasn't gonna teach the kids any bad words or something!"

"You know what I'm just gonna ignore everything you say 'cause half the time I don't know what you're talking about."

"Well just came to let you guys know that I'm gonna be away for a while, I've got my own game coming up soon and we have a few 'scenes' to shoot. Wish me luck!" He then moved across the room to where Wolverine's motorbike was sitting (wait, how did he get it in there without them noticing?) and started up the engine.

"If Wolvie wants to know where his bike went tell him it's in the shop. SEE YA!" he cried as he drove through the window and dived towards a ramp he just happened to place under the Helicarrier's current location. As he drove down it into the sunset performing a cowboy act Spidey and Ms. Marvel just looked at him getting further into the sunset "Okay, he planned that out, I can tell."

They both stared at the sunset before Ms. Marvel sat down and said "Y'know this is a nice view, we can worry about the window later it's just a small hole, why don't we talk for a bit."

"You sure?" She nodded at his question before patting the space next to her. He then sat down, trying to soothe the butterfly's in his chest and regained his confidence. "What would you like to talk about?" She thought for a second before returning her gaze to him "Tell me about what you've been up to while you were away."

Her warm smile was the only welcome he needed.
