While performing a science project at university on water particles, Daniel Keaton tried to improve the hydraulic energy of the project with a friend's project, but after spilling half of the water over a cut he got during the project he fell unconscious due to the injury.
2 days later he went to get a glass of water, the water came out of the tap without him touching it and later near a local swimming pool he accidently caused the water to destroy the vehicles outside and found his body collapsing into a puddle.
He later reformed and experimented with his powers learning to stretch his arms and legs, shape his hands into anything he wanted (even a gun that can shoot ice bullets) and he could also fire water in the shape of fists. Best of all his clothes could turn into water and stretch without being damaged or getting wet.
Inspired by Spider-Man and Wolverine, Daniel created a superhero suit and took the name of Zoness (a water planet from Star Fox 64) and began a superhero career which would lead him to meet his idols in the New Avengers.
Personality wise, Zoness is determined to be the best hero he can be, especially since he was revealed to be an omega level threat despite being unable to accomplish that feat...yet. He rarely gets angry and tries to keep his cool in stressed situations. If he does get mad or offends someone he will go out of his way to make up for it. He tries to remain positive at all times and has taken Spider-Man's words of responsibility to heart.
