Authors note: WARNING, if you haven’t played the Sin & Punishment games (Successor of the Earth on the N64 and Wii Virtual Console and Star Successor for the Wii) then be warned as there WILL be spoilers. With your friendly neighbourhood warning done, on with the show!

A month and a half after the secret ending

Once Isa and Kachi’s new ship had left Earth-6 far behind they found somewhere to land their ship for some rest. It was in an asteroid field where the movements were rare so they didn’t have to worry much about collisions, especially since they hid in one of the bigger asteroids craters. Kachi had already retired to her bed while Isa put the ship on lockdown and emergency defence should they get any surprises while they slept.

Isa walked down the hall to his own room while recounting the events over the past few months; after they defeated the Nebulox on Earth-4 they were able to get a ride to Earth-6 from a transport ship. He admitted to Kachi that he wasn’t really in the mood to go to Earth-5 after Deko’s defeat.

While on Earth-6 they had met Colonel Othani, the leader of a secret alliance who protects people from the creators and any invaders from outer space, and after doing a few favours for him he gave them one of the alliances ships to live in. They were grateful to the colonel and promised to try and contact him whenever trouble springs up if possible.

Isa entered his room and changed into some nightwear. Once he had washed up and climbed into bed, he reached for a journal he kept in the top drawer next to the bed. He decided to keep track of everything that had happened for future reference in case he and Kachi were on any difficult missions that needed to have their steps traced. Plus, it kept him occupied.

He opened the journal and started to write.

Journal entry 4

Me and Kachi have just left Earth-6 a quarter of an hour ago in a new ship after our last one was trashed by some Keepers. It’s got all the essentials; wash room, sleeping quarters, mess room and a engine room for easy repairs. It also has relatively strong shields, good top speed and enough firepower to protect us should we run into any trouble.

I had to double check that there are no tracking devices or hidden surveillance on or around it though, we’ve made allies with others who are fighting against the creators over the past months but regardless I don’t want anyone finding out about Kachi’s true identity.

She hasn’t even told me about some of the people she was directly involved with, she says it’s so I don’t make it more obvious if we meet someone she remembers, but I can’t help but feel she doesn’t trust me. Nah, I’m probably just being paranoid. We’re friends, she’d tell me if something’s wrong.

From what we learnt from Colonel Othani, there are roughly 8 to 13 Earths, somewhere between those two numbers. I first thought that there might have been thousands when I was training on Earth-5, guess that shoots down my chance of getting as far away from the creators as possible and having a normal life again, huh?

Sometimes I can’t help but think about what I left behind, I miss my mum, my friends, going to the park after school to play football, mum’s steak dinners (I tried making it myself the other day, Kachi said it was good but I know I’ll never be as good as mum) and I miss…dad…I’m never gonna get that memory out of my head am I?

Lord knows I’ve tried, but no. Mum was devastated; dad was a ruffian shooting down anything that moved and now that I’ve been in my ruffian form with Kachi keeping me in control, I can’t help but imagine how broken dad must off felt on the inside without mum’s control. Watching as his body went on a rampage while he could do nothing to stop himself.

I…I wish he could’ve told me that he was alright.

Well, er…let’s not get upset after a good day, how about…oh, I know. Yesterday before we got our ship Kachi and I found a cave of naturally grown crystals that are used for energy based weapons. We’ve been using synthetic crystals, Kachi doesn’t remember how she got her weapon since not all of her memories have returned yet, but mine were given to me and the other trainees on Earth-5 during our training.

I found some crystals that match the colours of my artificial ones. The yellow one for my beam blade has now made it lighter and more manoeuvrable while the cyan one for my laser gun has made the energy bullets and my charged shots more powerful. Kachi took a magenta one for hers and I took some extra ones that are the same colours as the ones in my parents’ weapons.

I keep them as spares just in case we lose or damage ours and seeing how these natural crystals have made our lasers better, these red and white crystals will give my folks weapons a much needed upgrade. Better to use them for emergencies rather than never use them at all and let them gather dust.

Kachi doesn’t seem to remember anything about her family. Parents, siblings, nothing, though she also seemed a bit nervous when we talked about my parents. She seemed to be fidgeting a bit; I’ve never seen her act like this other than when I first met her. Maybe she’s just upset that she can’t remember her family.

She won’t have to worry, she has me and we’ve made some allies on Earth-6. If we keep it up and keep rallying more to our cause to maintain peace she’ll feel like she has a new bunch of friends in no time, even if it takes forever for her to get the rest of her memories back.

Anyway, I’m beat. Good night.

And with that, Isa closed his journal and returned it along with the pen to his drawer before turning off his lamp and snuggling into his pillow, allowing his fatigue to catch up with him and help him sleep.

Unbeknownst to him though, Kachi wasn’t sleeping as peacefully in her own room…
Can I just say, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor for the Wii, brilliant game! I highly recommend it.

This chapter is told from Isa's POV, I'll post a chapter from Kachi's POV soon, I promise! :)
