The Super Hero Squad Show - Moving On (Ms. Marvel x Spider-Man)

Chapter 3 – Common foe

Ms. Marvel watched the Super Hero Squad leave towards the first set of new recruits from Dr. Doom's army – Titanium Man and A-Bomb as she returned to the computer to see if she could find any other crimes to stop around the city while the squad was out.

It was rather difficult for her to focus with her feelings still wild over her little 'interaction' with a certain red and blue superhero yesterday. Why was she acting so embarrassed about it? She turned her attention back to the computer to try and push said memory aside but that goal was demolished when the guy who has been on her mind all morning walked in with his fearless friend.

"Ms. Marvel, are there any missions that require our attention?" Daredevil asked.

Trying to keep her attention focused she replied "Not just now, the squad has just left to fight two new villains Doom has sent here, but since all the fractals have been found, I'm not sure what it is they are after."

"Shouldn't they be after the infinity fractals? Iron Man said that the infinity sword was shattered again."

Ms. had to try her hardest not to turn to answer the webhead. She was still embarrassed about yesterday's events. It didn't help that this morning Falcon was with Scarlet Witch, Hulk and Thor, when she entered they smirked at her before turning away discussing something. When she walked over they simply said that they were surprised that she was a bit late today.

Though she was worried about what the REAL reason was...

"Well, while that is true we have only found a few of the fractals here on Earth. But if you guys want something to do then why don't you both patrol around the city while the squad is out?"

They both turned to each other and Daredevil said "I don't see why not. C'mon webs."

Spidey returned his attention to Ms. Marvel, who still had her attention to the computer monitor. "You go on, I'll catch up."

As Daredevil left the room, Spidey turned to Ms. Marvel, who still had her back to him "Hey M&M, if your still mad at me for yesterday, I'm sorry. Really I should have been more responsible, I know your having a hard time since....well you know, so if there's anything you want me to do just ask."

Thinking that she wasn't going to answer back he left and went after Daredevil. But after the doors closed, Ms. Marvel regretted not speaking. She shouldn't have ignored him like that, he was only apologising for yesterday. She decided to forgive him once he returned, it was only fair.

And then the memory of her being in his arms returned and so did her blush. Why was she acting like this? But then again she silently admitted that she did enjoy the feeling though she would never care for him THAT way.

Could she?

Daredevil led the way as Spider-Man swung behind thinking about these past events with the blond heroine. Daredevil noticed that Spider-Man's lack of acrobatic confidence, so he decreased his swinging speed to try and talk with the crimson arachnid. "Hey webs, you alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine."

Daredevil knew his friend better than that "You're shy around Ms. Marvel aren't you?"

Spider-Man's swinging started to increase in speed to hide his embarrassment "No I just....look she's a busy woman I have to respect her."

A smirk crept its way onto his face "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you have a crush on her."

Spider-Man's head snapped toward Daredevil "What?!?!?" Spider-Man started to lose focus and landed on a nearby roof before he fell with Daredevil landing a few feet away from him.

"I do not have feelings for her!"

"I just said crush, but feelings? You must really like her."

Spider-Man mentally smacked himself "Okay, you caught me. Just please don't tell anyone."

"Don't worry pal, unlike you I know when to keep my mouth shut."

"Thanks. Between you and me, I don't think it would work out between us anyway." Spider-Man's shoulder slumped down.

"Well why not just ask her out, see how well it goes?"

"L-look she's still upset about Captain Marvel, I'm not taking advantage of her."

"Then wait a few weeks, take some time to get to know each other better, it's usually more comfortable that way."

Spidey pondered about it, it didn't seem like a bad idea. But the idea of him and the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. still seemed farfetched. For example she had enough strength to lift 70 tons, he can only lift 10. She could defeat any villain with energy blasts; his impact webbing could only stun them. He was just out of her league.

"I don't know Daredevil. It just seems so unlikely that..." He was interrupted by an explosion in the distance. "What was that?"

"I thought the squad was battling the new villains on the other side of town." There was a puff of smoke near the S.H.I.E.L.D. vault. "C'mon let's hurry."

Spider-Man and Daredevil ran through the entrance to the vault looking around to see what could have caused the explosion. Around them they saw a few soldiers knocked out and various machinery was broken with sparks occasionally flying into the air.

"Okay let's find out who did this."

They started to look around until Spider-Man spotted some parts of a small bomb on the ground.

"Hang on, these parts look like they are a part of Green Goblin's pumpkin bombs, but he's been missing before we left months ago."

"So maybe it was his orange counterpart?"

"Hobgoblin, he must of used EMP pumpkin bombs to disable all the automated security systems! But why would they attack the vault if there are no fractals here?"

Daredevil snapped his hand up "shhh!"

"What is...?"

"SHHHH...I hear something, follow me and be quiet."

Knowing Daredevil's enhanced senses were never wrong, Spider-Man (for once) kept quiet and followed him through the corridors of the vault trying to be as quiet as possible. They soon heard a Jackhammer hammering against the ground as it soon slowed to a halt. They dove behind some broken equipment and peeked around to spot who it was that caused the commotion.

Kingpin with two of his best henchmen Hobgoblin and Bullseye.

"Hurry up you two, it won't be long before we're found!" cried out the robust crime lord as the orange goblin and the accurate assassin dug into the floor with a jackhammer and a shovel.

CLANG!

As soon as that sound was heard, Bullseye dropped the shovel and started to frantically shove a few bits of concrete and dirt away until they found something underneath a pipe drain. He pulled it out and presented it to Kingpin.

"Look 'ere boss! Those heroes built there vault on top of this and didn't even know about it!"

The Kingpin examined it "Yes this is one of the pieces of the Machina Code!"

Hobgoblin's brow furrowed "What's the Machina Code?"

"Idiot! Weren't you listening to me or Dr. Doom?!?!"

Spider-Man and Daredevil jumped out of their hiding spots "I doubt it cause' he was probably wondering how you fit in that suit with all the doughnuts you eat!"

The three villains turned in their direction "Ah my two most hated adversaries, Daredevil and Spider-Man! So nice of you to join us, but sadly our little get together is going to be brief since we now have a delivery." Kingpin turned to the assassin and goblin. "Get them!"

Bullseye took out two Sai and leapt towards Daredevil engaging him in close combat while Hobgoblin hopped onto his glider and started to throw bombs at Spider-Man who effortlessly dodge each small explosion.

Bullseye was known for his deadly aim but sadly this didn't apply in combat as Daredevil was quickly able to disarm him of his Sai. Bullseye leapt over to the corner of the room, picked up some glass from the smashed window and threw them at Daredevil. But the man without fear stood his ground and used his boosted reflexes to evade each one. The red devil then threw one of his batons at Bullseye's forehead causing him to fall back like a clumsy ox as stars started floating around his head.

Daredevil picked up his baton and taunted "Bullseye!"

Hobgoblin took some razor bats out of his bag and threw them at Spidey. The webbed wonder dove behind a table and used it to catch them before swinging the table around and throwing it at Hobgoblin, knocking him off his glider. While the glider fell to the ground, Spider-Man quickly shot some webbing at Hobgoblin knocking and trapping him against the wall.

"Spider-Man, a little help here!"

Spider-Man turned to see Kingpin trying to knock Daredevil over and tried to trap the overweight man in webbing. However Kingpin's strength didn't leave him trapped for long and he broke free in time to grab Daredevil by the head. When Spider-Man attempted to punch Kingpin, he nearly hurt Daredevil allowing Kingpin to catch him by the head to.

Just as Kingpin was about to smash them, Spider-Man shot some webbing in his face blinding and gagging the crime boss. Daredevil broke free and used his baton to trip Kingpin over as Spider-Man shot as much webbing as he could onto him, ensuring that he didn't break free.

As the big man struggled to get out the two red heroes high fived each other "Nice work partner, now let's get this Machina Code back to the Helicarrier back to base and see what it does and why it's so important. I'll contact S.H.I.E.L.D. to come lock these guys up."

With the villains under lock and key the two walked down the hall of the Helicarrier to the main control room where Ms. Marvel was waiting.

"Daredevil?" The man without fear turned in concern at the sound of the webhead's low voice.

"When do you think I should ask her?" This was really bothering him, he had never really been that good at dating and Daredevil understood that his friend was uncomfortable about this, he patted his back and gave his pal a reassuring smile.

"The time will come when it's right, just be patient. Every woman is different webs, just get to know her and she may open up to you."

They both entered the room to see Ms. Marvel approach them in a hurry "I heard you found a piece of the Machina Code, is this true?"

Daredevil presented it to her "Yes here it is though I think we should wait for the others to show up so we can inform them about it."

"Agreed" Ms. Marvel then motioned for them to enter as she noticed Spider-Man's quiet demeanour "Hey Spidey, are you okay?"

"Yeah, great. Just a little excited that's all" he was caught off guard as Ms. Marvel hugged him. She then stepped back and looked into his eyes.

"I forgot to say thanks for your apology earlier so....Thank you, since you're a guest here I'll let it slide."

Daredevil couldn't help but grin as Spider-Man scratched the back of his head, however once they heard the squad enter they immediately let go of each other and try to remain professional.

Now that the squad were here it's time to find out what this Machina Code thing is....
