Author’s note: It pains me that such a phenomenal TV series like ‘Transformers Prime’ has ended whereas the other crap on TV is still going. But I guess like ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ and ‘Young Justice’ it was just too good to last. Please note that this takes place a few cycles (years) after the events of the final episode/movie Predacons Rising which I highly recommend watching if you haven’t already. But enough of my fanboyism, let’s get started!

WARNING! SPOILERS! WATCH THE TRANSFORMERS PRIME TV SERIES (seriously, it has a greater impact when you watch it from beginning to end) BEFORE READING!

Also if there are any elements of this story you don’t like please try not to let it ruin the story.

Cybertron, Iacon Council Tower

Nearly all refugees, be they Autobot or Decepticon, had returned to the now fully restored planet of Cybertron to bask in its glory with fresh Energon and new life. With Team Prime upholding Optimus Prime’s final wish before he sacrificed himself to restore the planet, they had managed to rid the Cybertronian citizens of the caste system that had once hindered everyone’s freedom of choice.

Now every bot and femme could choose what they wanted to do and not be placed into something they may not enjoy. This was one of the major things that Bumblebee had been proud of since the war had ended.

The former scout-turned-warrior sighed as his mind flashed back to Earth – the planet that had played the most important role in ending the war – and his old friend Raf. Hopefully they would meet again someday. Especially since Transformers age much, much more slowly than humans do. How old was Raf now? What was he doing? Was he still working at Unit E with Jack and Miko?

Only time will tell is what Bumblebee thought to himself as he finished his shift at the Iacon Council Tower, one of if not THE most important building in Iacon City. His days of scouting for information and shooting at Cons were over as he now worked to establish peace amongst Cybertron with his fellow comrades who were once Autobots.

“Well that’s me finished for the cyber-week” he turned his attention from the datapads on his desk and stored them away before leaving “I’m off.”

“Same here.” Smokescreen was one of the Autobots that joined the fight on Earth later on and in time became one of the most important members of the team. Now he works with Bumblebee at the Council Tower “Oh yeah before I forget, I got to see Bulkhead and Wheeljack again when I had to discuss the construction plans for the new sector that’s gonna be made”.

“Really, how are they doing?” Bumblebee asked as they got into the lift outside the office and rode it down. The lift had a built in window so those riding it could turn around and stare at the city of Iacon on a beautiful Solar Cycle.

“They’re all doing fine, though I think they miss the days when we were scrapping Cons.” He grinned as they proceeded to talk about what happened then and once they reached the ground floor they respectfully said goodbye to the workers he passed and exited the Council Tower.

“Well you enjoy yourself, see you tomorrow.”

“You to Smokescreen.”

Once they walked far enough from the great building Smokescreen headed down in the opposite direction Bumblebee was heading and he smoothly transformed into his vehicle mode and drove down the path to the Iacon Speedway while Bee did the same but towards somewhere else down the mechanical highway.

‘This will never get old, but I will admit, I do miss the views that Earth had to offer’ Bumblebee thought to himself as he drove down the Speedway. ‘I’ve got plenty of time to pick them up. I think I’ll take my time’.

Outskirts of Iacon

He soon pulled up to a school that had become a natural sight for him since they started and waited near the other parents who were present. When the femme who he knew was their teacher saw him she turned and called “Goldbug! Optima! Your dad is here!”

Once she had finished two small Cybertronian vehicles zoomed through the playground towards them. He beamed with pride as the two vehicles transformed into his younglings. A mech and a femme to be exact.

The mech was Goldbug who had earned his name at birth because of his shiny metallic yellow plating, as well as the resemblance to his dad. His head had blue armour which didn’t really seem to clash with his gold and black body and he also had smaller versions of horns that resembled Cliffjumper’s, except they were blue to rather than silver.

Then there was his daughter, Optima, who was named after Optimus Prime in his memory and honour. She was a mix of her mum and dad with blue armour around her small frame and antenna on the sides of her head that resembled those of the Last Prime. She also had a crest on the top of her forehead and small wings on her upper back.

“Daddy! Daddy, guess what?” They didn’t give him a chance to answer before joyously cheering “We all had a race today! We didn’t win but it was loads of fun as we zoomed around and-”

The yellow mech had to raise his hands in mock fear of the boisterous younglings “Calm down kids, one at a time okay?”

“We were allowed to go out on the field today…”

“….and we all had our own race like they have at the raceway!”

“Optima! I wanted to tell daddy first!” Goldbug pouted at his twin sister.

“So? I’m faster than you at expaning.” Optima retorted in a matter-of-fact manner.

Bumblebee chuckled at her mistake “You mean ‘explaining’ sweetspark, and from what I can tell you both seem fast.”

“But I’m faster right daddy?” Goldbug asked hoping to get back at his sister. But she just looked at him in annoyance “No you’re not!”

“Yes I am!”

“Yes you are!”

“No I’m not!” Optima giggled when Goldbug realised what he said.

“Alright kids that’s enough” Bumblebee placed his each of his hands on one of their shoulder-plates “you both have a way to go. But remember” he pointed a finger up to mimick their teacher as both younglings look at him in curiosity “hard work brings good luck!”

This seemed to bring a smile to their faces as he stood up and led them down from the school “Now let’s head home, remember to stay close to me.” The three of them then transformed as slowly set off down the road.

“Daddy, when can we drive on our own?”

“When you’re both old enough Optima. Unless you want space slugs to come out of the ground and eat you.” He teased to his kids causing them to drive closer to him.

“Ah No! We’ll be good, won’t we sis?”

“Yeah dad, me and Goldbug will be safe driving when we’re big bots.”

The three then talked to each other about what their day was like as they drove home.

Suburbs, outside Iacon city

The trio soon arrived to a house on the outskirts of Iacon near similar houses spread evenly apart to create a village like atmosphere in a cybernetic field of glowing structures resembling bushes and trees on Earth.

“Dad, can I go in the back garden for a while?” asked Goldbug after they all transformed into their robot modes.

“Sure you can. But don’t do anything silly, your mother won’t like it if I let you guys get into trouble…. again.”

“Yes dad” Goldbug suddenly tapped on Optima’s shoulder-plate before transforming back into his vehicle mode as fast as possible “Tag you’re it!”

“Goldbug! No Fair!” Optima tried to transform quickly to tag her brother as they started to zoom around the back garden.

Bumblebee laughed at his younglings as they started to prove whose better again. ‘Wish they could have met you Optimus. I’d bet you’d love them.’

He started to drift off and think of all the times his leader had trained him to achieve his goal of becoming a warrior, from defeating Skyquake and brawling with the Insecticons right up to when he slayed Megatron with the Star Saber, regaining his voice and his own life after being slayed himself. Though it didn’t come without losses…

He heard an all-too-familiar engine approaching as he walked around to the front to see his sparkmate driving up to the house. The cybertronian two-wheeler slowed dramatically when approaching Bumblebee, before she scrunched up and stretched upwards to transform into her robot mode.

“Busy solar cycle Arcee?”

“Not really, I’m used to having to work early or late thanks to the war.” The blue femme who had now become his sparkmate waited for him to lean down so they could place their foreheads on each other while closing their eyes.

They pulled away prompting Arcee to ask “So how was your day?”

“Same as usual, busy but I manage to make it enjoyable. Smokescreen told me that Bulkhead and Wheeljack are going to help build the new sector of the Council Tower since the old design needed work before the war started.”

“It would be nice to see those two again. Though I think Wheeljack would probably be around mostly for demolition seeing how he misses his grenades.” She smirked as her attention was turned to their younglings racing each other around causing her to smile.

“Hmm, never thought I’d ever see the rest of my life like this, I was expecting myself to be offlined at some point.” Her expression softened.

“Yeah a real shame you ended up with a handsome mech for a sparkmate, a job you seem to be happy with and two lovely sparklings when you could have been blown up fighting in Kaon.”

She playfully punched him in the arm. “Yeah a real shame I ended up spark bonding with you. Seriously though I’m really proud of all of us for finally getting rid of the Caste system we use to have before the war, everyone’s doing better choosing what they want to be. If only Optimus was here to see his dream come true.”

“You know he’s always with us Arcee, he has merged with our planet’s core after all.”

“I know” she stared him in the optics “I guess we can tell him how things are going on when we take the kids to his memorial tomorrow.”

Tomorrow was the anniversary of the end of the war where the remaining members of Team Prime would go to Optimus Prime’s memorial personally each cycle to leave some Energon shards and wish him peace. It was Ratchet’s idea and they had all complied, though Ultra Magnus was unable to attend due to his work as a new member of the high council so he would wish him peace in the hall where Optimus made his speech that convinced the original council members he was worthy of being a Prime.

“C’mon let’s spend some time with the kids before we give them some energon.” Bumblebee and Arcee went over to their kids who had become tired of racing for the solar cycle and wanted to hear more stories of when their parents were fighting in the Great War.

Goldbug raised his hand when they were going over stories that they hadn’t told them yet “what was the spider called again? Aircind?”

Arcee tried not to frown at the thought of her old nemesis, who had traumatised her, killed her partner, Tailgate, and tried to murder Jack and his mother June on Earth “Airachnid sweetspark.”

“Can we have a story without her? I don’t like her.”

“Me to.” Optima didn’t want another nightmare with the mean spider bot in it.

Arcee felt better as she rubbed their helms “it’s alright. None of us did.”

“Don’t worry guys, I’ll choose a good story since mummy always tells scary ones.”

Arcee faced her sparkmate “Not all of mine are scary” though she wished none of them were with what she had to go through “besides our kids are tough and brave, they’re not scared of anything” she turned her helm to face them “aren’t you?” she asked with her usual tough confidence.

Both of the younglings assumed mock fighting poses while giving their biggest grins “Yeah!” Showing that they got a good portion of their toughness from their mum.

Bumblebee just sighed “Nice Arcee, you always were all work and no play.”

Arcee stood up and placed her hands on her hips “are you saying I have no sense of humour?”

Before Bee could answer the blue femme leaned down and wraped her arms around Bumblebee’s chest and made sure he was on his knees as she held him tight.

She put on her biggest grin and gave her best commander impression “alright kids, get him!”

Goldbug and Optima shared her grin as they proceeded to tickle their dad causing him to laugh with no way of escaping.

“Haha, W-where was…hahaha, this A-Arcee, hahaha during the wahahahha!”

After a few more moments of fun the four went inside their home to refuel themselves with Energon and settle down for the night.

Soon the younglings had settled down and Arcee followed Bee away from their rooms as not to wake them. “I hope they never go through what we had to.”

Arcee noticed that look on his faceplate “You’ve been thinking about Tyger Pax again?” She reached up and placed a hand on his shoulder “what’s done is done, besides it made you stronger in the fact that you didn’t let your disability hinder you.”

“Still, I’m a bit…well…you know.”

Bumblebee lowered his head in shame until the blue two-wheeler looked him straight in the optics “Bee, we’ve been partners for a long time, I’ve chosen you as my partner many times because I knew you needed someone you trusted every step of the way after what happened.”

“I needed your company after Tailgate and Cliffjumper were killed. When Unicron tried to destroy our planet, you came out of your shell and became our leader. You can get past this because I’m still here and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.” He looked at her feeling better now.

“Besides, I don’t want the kids to have a sparkling for a dad.” This resulted in Bumblebee having mocking a grin.

“Funny.” They reached the room they shared as the black and yellow mech opened the door “Femmes first.”

Arcee walked into the room first followed by Bumblebee as they both retired for the night.

Great War Memorial Grounds

Bumblebee, Arcee, Goldbug and Optima slowly transformed as they approached a huge memorial ground near where the Well of Allsparks used to be and walked towards it. After Cybertron was restored and enough refugees came back they had decided to close the Well of Allsparks (as it was the most direct route to the planets core) to make sure the core was safe and built the memorial grounds for all the mechs and femmes who gave their lives to save their planet from the Decepticons.

Before heading for the main bot they came to honour Bumblebee and Arcee put some Energon shards down at the graves for some old comrades.

All these Autobots and more had a tombstone with an engraved Autobot insignia engraved on them, even if their bodies were never found they were planted there in honour of them. They made sure that Elita One, the femme Optimus Prime loved, had her tombstone placed closest to the statue of him.

After Bumblebee visited his surrogate parents Ironhide and Chromia and Arcee had paid tribute to her lost partners Cliffjumper and Tailgate they led their younglings to the giant memorial statue overlooking the entire Memorial Grounds.

They met their old friends Bulkhead, Wheeljack, Smokescreen and Ratchet. Even Knock Out who had reformed and became an Autobot to save the planet had come to pay respect to Optimus (his eyes had returned to blue as proof for this as the Decepticons were no more).

They all had moved on, a few of them, like Arcee and Bumblebee, had families now and all got along with little to no trouble. Once they had all talked for a while and caught up on what they did through the cycle so far, they turned their attention to the statue and the words engraved near the Autobot insignia on the pedestal:

Orion Pax – Optimus Prime

The Last Prime

‘Til All Are One

They had all said some kind words and placed their Energon shards on the statues pedestal near the feet. When the kids gone up they talked about how their parents told great stories about him and wished they could have met him.

When they all finished they said goodbye to one another agreed to meet each other again sometime later in the orbital cycle. Bumblebee, Arcee and their younglings were the last ones to leave as Bumblebee placed a hand on the memorial.

“We’ve kept the peace Optimus, just like I said we would. Thank you for all you’ve done for us. Take care.”

He walked back over to his family as they went home in silence.

A figure from far away watched the last of them leave before walking over to the statue and placing his own Energon shard on it. Megatron stepped back and looked up at his old foe and friend.

“I have kept my word Optimus. I have no longer inflicted oppression like I once did. I shall be seeing you soon old friend.”

His grim faceplate lowered and he transformed into his cybertronian jet mode and flew away to resume his self-exile. Soon he would give into his age and pass away a different mech, proud that he was at least able to proclaim that the Decepticons were no more and make sure they never returned.

Megatron was soon far away again as the Optimus Prime statue continue to stand tall and proud with the stars illuminating the sky above Cybertron.
And there you have it, my tribute to one f the best animated series ever made. The whole BumblebeexArcee thing kinda started with a scene the characters shared in the 'Predacons Rising' movie, if you don't like this pairing, I apologize...sort of.

The units of time are from TFwiki

Solar Cycle = Day

Cycle = Year

Cyber-week = Week

((I do like MLP; FiM BUT, it's ridiculous on how much attention it got over Transformers Prime. I'm really dissapointed in the Hub, and Hasbro. I really am. Transformers Prime deserved so much more than words can describe. Like, Miko's parents, Raf's parents, let alone some more Breakdown... Js! Anywho, I am extremely happy that the show even existed. Thank you, Hasbro! And thanks for making this great fic! I love it! ))
